Yangon, May (14)
The National Unity Government (NUG) declared that it would contribute $1 million to the emergency response to the extremely severe cyclone Mocha on May 13.
This decision was made after discussing the emergency response to Mocha at the National Unity Government’s (NUG) Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Response Commission meeting the day before yesterday.
The NUG made a decision during the meeting to provide $ 1 million for an emergency response and to use 10% of the tax revenue obtained to deal with the storm in the Sagaing and Magway Regions.

In addition, the research and development team under the Emergency Operations Coordination Committee (EOCC) will be responsible for obtaining international assistance and issuing the NUG’s policy statement.
They decided to instruct the People’s Administrative Bodies and the People’s Defense Forces in a timely manner to make preparations so that there is no interruption of communication in carrying out emergency operations.
