The joint office of the military council near the old airfield in Nan Khe Ward in Mon State’s Thaton Township was attacked by rockets around noon on May 15, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

Two rockets were fired at the joint office in Thaton Township by an unidentified armed group.

The rocket attack did not destroy the office building, but it hit an electric post nearby.

A Thaton resident said that after the attack, regime troops arrived, inspected the scene, blocked some roads, and conducted some searches.

According to the Telegram accounts of junta supporters, the People’s Defense Forces attacked Thaton joint office but no one was injured.

Than Lwin Times attempted to contact the official from Thaton-PDF for comment regarding the rocket attack but was unable to reach him.

The Internal Revenue Department, Police Office, and Township General Administration Department are all located in the compound of the joint office in Thaton.

On April 9 last year, two policemen were injured and the stairs of the office building were destroyed in a parcel bomb explosion at the Thaton joint office.
