Yebyu, May (16)

Junta troops left their base at the Dawei Special Economic Zone in Nabule area, Yebyu Township of Tanintharyi Region after an attack, said a source from People’s Defense Forces.

The Nabule camp, where more than 20 members of the junta forces, police, and militiamen were stationed, was raided by the combined force of PDFs on May 14.

The military council’s aerial bombardment prompted the PDF joint force to withdraw when they attempted to take the camp.

At least three junta soldiers were reportedly killed in the battle, and some weapons and ammunition were seized by the PDFs.

The junta forces departed the camp and joined the reinforcements the day after the camp was attacked.

Then, on May 15, a junta column of more than 60 troops raided five villages, including Nabule and Mu Doo, and carried out airstrikes, reported Regional Military Command-Tanintharyi.

The regime troops arrested at least 10 local residents as human shields from villages while they were marching, the residents said.

Thousands of Nabule villagers have been forced to flee as junta forces launch air and ground assaults.
