Thandaugn, May (26)
When there is no fighting, the regime troops have been firing heavy weapons nearly every day into Thandaung (13-miles), damaging some homes and even places of worship, said local sources.
One Christian church was damaged when junta troops fired heavy weapons into Ward 3 of Thandaung (13-mile) around 9:00 a.m. on May 21.
Moreover, the junta artillery firing led to the explosions near a rubber farm in Taungpyar Kalay village and homes in Ward No. 3 of U Saigon Ward on May 22 and May 23, but no one was injured because the people had already fled.
After military tensions heightened between the junta army and the combined force of KNLA Brigade 2 in Thandaugn (13-mile) under the territory of KNU Brigade 2 in February, military activities and human rights violations such as firing heavy weapons into Thadaung, burning homes, motorcycles, and cars, and abducting residents occur, forcing almost all residents to flee.
