The regime troops returning after capturing a civilian were attacked on their way back in Win Sein village, Thaton Township of Mon State, on November 10, killing three, including a deputy battalion commander, the official from Thaton PDF told Than Lwin Times.

The Deputy Battalion Commander, Major Chit Win Thu and his troops of the Thaton-based training unit 9, who had returned from arresting an activist from Win Sein village, clashed with the Thaton  People’s Defense Forces and exchanged fire between the two sides around 5 am on November 10.

The three military personnel, including Major Chit Win Thu, were reportedly killed while the other soldier and the detainee escaped.

The Thaton PDF confiscated three rifles, three smart phones, nine 40-mm artillery shells, ten ammo boxes, bullets, and 23 lakhs of cash.

The junta forces searched through Win Sein village and nearby villages after the attack.

On the afternoon of November 9, the KNLA joint forces attacked the military checkpoint near the Kyarpan toll gate in Thaton with a drone, injuring one soldier.
