Passenger bus hits landmines, injuring two in Thaton

Thiha Min Express was hit by a landmine on Yangon-Mawlamyine road near Kamarsai village in the Donwon village tract in Mon State’s Thaton at 10 pm on January 5, the locals and rescue workers told Than Lwin Times.

Thiha Min passenger express was attacked near Kamasai village on its way to Yangon from Tanintharyi Region’s Myeik .

According to reports, the driver was injured in the eyes and face by broken glass and an explosion, while his colleague was also injured in the face and hands.

One of the three passengers in Thiha Min Express felt shocked, fled, and disappeared after being struck by a mine, the rescue workers said.

No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack on the passenger bus.

In another incident, the Shwe Wai Min express was shot between Shwe Yaung Pya and Kamarsai village while heading to Mawlamyine from Yangon on October 24, injuring one passenger.
