Ministers of National Unity Government held talks on implementation of Burma Act with officials of United States government on 20 June.

The discussion was made at the policy workshop organized by the Global Fund for Burma in Washington DC.

US President Biden signed the Burma Act into law in December 2022 to increase U.S. pressure on Myanmar’s military junta, and provide more aid to the people of Myanmar.

The meeting was attended by NUG’s Union Minister Dr Zaw Wai Soe, U Htin Lin Aung, Deputy Minister U Moe Zaw Oo and Special Adviser of Interim Central Bank Mr Sean Turnell.

 The press release of NUG’s Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology said that the meeting of US White House’s National Security Council, parliamentarians, NUG minister and representatives of ethnic armed organizations discussed implementation of Burma Act, assistance of US government and international organizations, federal democracy affairs, international issues, UN’s activities on Myanmar and legal affairs.
