Occupation of junta bases begins in Kayah State

Loikaw, 12 November

Since November 11, the Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) and allied forces have been fighting to seize junta bases and outposts in Kayah State (Karenni) as part of Operation 1027.

On November 11, at around 6:30 a.m., the joint revolutionary forces launched offensives against the junta bases near Loikaw, the capital of Kayah State.

The Three Brotherhood Alliance announced yesterday that they captured seven regime camps in Loikaw, Demoso, Nang Mae Khon, and Nang San Kham, and that they continued to fight in order to seize other camps.

The Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) has warned people not to use the Loikaw – Demoso, Loikaw – Mobye and Loikaw – Sisaing roads due to the situation in Loikaw, Kayah State.

Fighting between the junta army and the Three Brotherhood Alliance continues in the northern Shan State of Kokang and Ta’aung, where Operation 1027 began, said the alliance.

The military council is attempting to retake their military bases from the Three Brotherhood Alliance, but with little hope on the ground, they have to resort to airstrikes.

The junta conducted at least 20 airstrikes per day in Kwanlon, Laukkai, and Naungcho, and sometimes as many as 90 airstrikes per day in Kwanlon.

On November 10, General Zaw Min Tun, spokesman for the military council, clarified that the necessary measures will be taken to reclaim the lost territory.
