Kyunsu, 18 November

Both resistance fighters and civilians were killed in the fighting near War Yit village in Tanintharyi Region’s Kyunsu Township, said the revolutionary forces.

On November 16, around 11:00 a.m., nearly 20 PDF comrades were attacked by a junta column of nearly 100 troops as they went to market in War Yit village because of a tip from a military informant.

After nearly an hour of fighting, the local defense forces were forced to retreat.

A member of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) was reportedly killed, one went missing, and two local men were also killed during the fighting.

Meanwhile, the artillery shelling of regime forces seriously injured a monk from War Yit monastery and claimed the lives of some junta troops.

As of the morning of November 17, the body of the fallen PDF comrade could not be retrieved due to the presence of regime forces in War Yit village.

Since early this month, the military regime has launched invasions, putting pressure on some villages to submit the names of at least 15 militia members and forcing some villagers to flee the villages.
