The revolutionary forces bombed the headquarters of the military council’s Mawrawaddy naval base in Ohn Pin Kwin village in the Kan Pauk area of Tanintharyi Region’s Ye Phyu Township for the first time.
At around 8:00 a.m. on December 15, the joint forces of the revolutionary forces dropped three bombs with a drone on the headquarters of Mawrawaddy naval base, which is equipped with many anti-drone systems.
The bombs exploded near the residences of the officials and offices in the navy compound, and at least three people were injured or killed, a member of the PDF said.
After the explosions inside the naval headquarters, the regime troops fired at least 20 rounds into the surrounding village, where the PDF comrades might be present.
The shells fired by the naval headquarters exploded in farms and rubber plantations near Eain De Yarzar village and Sin Ku village, but no one was injured, said locals.
After the attack, the soldiers from the naval base blocked all the entrances and exits of the Kan Pauk area, conducted searches, and reopened the roads in the evening, according to local residents.
The Mawrawaddy naval headquarters in the Kan Pauk area is a Hein Ze fleet naval base and a training school as well.
