Real vs. Fake News

Mingalabar! Welcome to Than Lwin Times’ Real vs. Fake News program.

This program verifies fake news and misinformation about revolution events spread on social

media after the military takeover.

Today, the story ” video footage of a passenger bus being attacked with mines and fired by the PDF,” which has been circulated on social media by military supporters, will be investigated.

This content was disseminated via Telegram accounts of military lobbyists on January 4, which constantly favor the military and disseminates misinformation.

The Than Lwin Times looked into the post and found it to be propaganda.

In fact, the video being circulated by the fake accounts of junta supporters is one that was posted on the Peoples Revolution Alliance (PRA-Magway)’s Facebook page on January 1, 2023.

Than Lwin Times verified that the PDFs did not attack the passenger vehicle in Ngahpe Township as alleged by military lobbyists.

In fact, that footage shows that the Peoples Revolution Alliance (PRA-Magway) ambushing a military vehicle carrying regime forces from the No. 905 artillery unit with cluster mines between Goatgyi village and Myaylat village in Ngahpe Township around 8:30 am on the 3rd of January, 2023.

You can see the sources of that footage at the following links:

Therefore, “video footage of a passenger bus being attacked with mines and fired by PDF ” is just a misinformation spread by the supporters of the army.
