Real vs. Fake News

Mingalabar! Welcome to Than Lwin Times’ Real vs. Fake News program.

This program verifies fake news and misinformation about revolution events spread on

social media after the military takeover.

Today, we will check the report that PDFs are brazenly copying the text at the NUG’s matriculation examination.

This content was disseminated via the junta-proxy Telegram account of Pale Minthar since April 3.

Military lobbyists have been spreading rumors online with photos saying, “The National Unity Government’s (NUG) matriculation examination held for the first time in March, as there were no exam room supervisors and the students could brazenly copy the text without cheating, so all the candidates would definitely achieved distinctions in every subject”.

The Than Lwin Times looked into the post and found it to be misinformation.

In fact, the photo records of PDF comrades, male and female, taking the exam in an orderly manner during the National Unity Government (NUG)’s first matriculation examination held in March, were released by the Daw Na Column of the southern military region’s sub-region No.3. But junta lobbyists are taking these photos and spreading propaganda that PDFs are cheating in exams.

According to the reliable sources mentioned above, the report that “PDFs are brazenly copying the text at the NUG’s matriculation examination,” is just false information spread by Junta supporters.
