Yebyu, 21 December

Four local residents were arrested after the revolutionary forces launched an attack on Mawrawaddy naval base in Kan Pauk of Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, according to sources close to families.

The explosion occurred when the Kan Pauk local defense force dropped a bomb on naval base on 15 December morning.

Then, the regime troops entered Kan Pauk area and arrested Daw Thae Su Moe from Magga Ward, Daw Than Than Soe from Hlegon No.1 Ward and U Thar Gyi and wife from Migyaung Ward.

According to sources close to the family, the junta arrested the locals for questioning. The sources said that the detainees have nothing to do with politics and they are just vendors, drivers and tenants.

The four detainees are being interrogated in the vicinity of the Mawrawaddy naval base, and they have not been allowed to meet their family members.

Some civilians were arrested and released by the junta army in Kan Pauk area, while four were sentenced to long-term prison terms.

Some military personnel were reportedly killed in the attack on Mawrawaddy naval base, reported the Kan Pauk PDF on 17 December.
